What's a Girl to Wear?

So what's a girl to wear to a Breakfast at Tiffany's bridal shower?  Hopefully, the hostess and bridal party can come to a mutual decision when a shower is based on a theme, because a theme affair calls for theme attire.  It's imperative to state it CLEARLY on the invitation.  Below is how our invitation read:

Deciding what to wear, offers your guest one less worry.  We asked that guests dress in the style of Audrey Hepburn, with a LBD aka: little black dress, a big hat, and lots of diamonds and pearls!  Most of us own a closet filled with LBD's to begin with, and many a black hat of some sort.  As for diamonds and pears, whether authentic or faux, layering it on makes for such fun, creativity, and a glamorous event.

Below is the outfit I put together for myself:

A black silk belted and pleated dress was the perfect palate for highlighting my accessories
I kept my dress simple and my accessories bold

Tiffany blue patent leather pumps were the perfect touch, that added "pop" to my ensemble while an eclectic mix of oversized gems added glamorous drama

My hat of choice was a netted headband "fascinator," that burst with a plume of feathers
The guest of honor and bride-to-be, Jess, looked smashing in her wide brimmed hat that coordinated perfectly with her dress.

Seeing double! Twin sisters are a visions of Hepburn loveliness
Mother and daughter went to long lengths to make Jess day unforgettable.  Maid of honor Stacy wore eye catching ruby red slippers
Maid of honor, Stacy, is the "toastess" with the mostess, popping open some bubbly for morning mimosas
Mother-In-Law, Kelly, designed and constructed her own headdress
Mums and mimosas
Hats off to a perfect day!
Allow your imagination to run wild with your wardrobe, think layers, textures, pop and glam.  Theme attire is always safe and again great fun!
