I have always found that starting with a "theme" can jump start the planning of any anxiously anticipated occasion, one which represents the "guest of honor" his/her passions or dreams.
When embarking on the challenge of a new event, with a clear head and a moment of silence, sit down with a pencil and paper and put your thinking cap on! Start by jotting down those passions and dreams and from there with a little creativity you CAN turn them into reality. One of the best tips is to ALWAYS keep a pencil and pad in the car, one on the night stand and one by the shower. Did you ever find that your best "brainstorming" ideas seem to miraculously and conveniently appear while idle in bed, the moment you "take to the wheel" or as my friend Megan said, "in the shower?"
