When gutting/reconstructing, new construction or simply redecorating, consider the following: Architectural elments/details.
"Raise the Roof" by using simple or detailed moldings at the top of your wall/ceilng. The room will not only have an elegant finishing touch of architectural detail but will also create a greater illusion of space as far as height is concerned. Just as important, the baseboard molding along the bottom of the wall/floor. When complete, look at the room as the framework for the canvas you are preparing to paint or paper. If something seems missing, it's probably that!
