MY MISSION STATEMENT

Jamie Gottschall's IndomitableStyle brand was created to inspire, educate and empower those who dream big, no matter what their budget or socioeconomic background. DIY has been the ultimate education for perfecting the art of living with everyday style, hence my mantra, "affordable luxury."

As a master multi-tasker, my expertise includes: industry training and experience in fashion, renowned for having an innate sense for spotting "up and coming" trends instinctively, I have created, developed, and confidently set many of my own.  Health/wellness (AED/CPR certified and AFAA trained), internationally recognized (home-grown) home designer/decorator, baker/caterer and recipe creator. foodie, entertaining engineer, writer/blogger, television lifestyle personality and more, have motivated me to share my professional trade secrets and self developed artistry. My tenacious spirit has afforded me success in all my endeavors.

STYLE PHILOSOPHY
Anyone with a true sense of style knows well, that it's not how much you pay for something, but how you put something together that counts.

In both my professional and personal opinion, style is something that the sensory gifted are born with (those who possess the "heightened" 5 senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell).  But, don't mistake the fact that it can't be developed, because it absolutely can.  For those who feel it doesn't come naturally, should not be deterred.  It's a behavior that can be developed over time, as long as the interest is present.  Learning to activate the senses can be developed and flourished through education, experience, resourcefulness, self awareness and most of all, embracing the inevitable fear of failure in the process.  Those with heightened senses learn naturally through trial and error that our failures are not our weakness, but the stepping stones that build our strength.

ELEMENTS OF STYLE

LAYERING
A visual virtuoso understands the significance of layering.  Layering changes an entire formula, by creating visual dimension.  In turn, visual dimension stimulates the senses.  In fashion, home design and entertaining (table top), visual dimension looks and feels inviting.  With food, layering looks and tastes better.

COORDINATING COLORS & PATTERNS
A style authority is well informed when it comes to color and patterns. Knowing just how to coordinate and mix and match is an art form in itself.  Confidence and originality when it comes to pairing patterns is all about risk taking, trial and error.

PLACEMENT
Understanding placement is to understand balance, symmetry, positioning and arrangement.

COORDINATING
An aficionado possesses the knowledge that coordinating, is taking complex multiple elements and striking a balance.

ON GREATNESS
I firmly believe that everyone has the power deep within their imagination to do great things, be great citizens and make the world a brighter, more beautiful place one inspiring idea at a time. Whether an aspiring athlete, a domestic diva, a creative crafter, a wellness buff, an inspiring chef or possessing a flair for style and design, adding a ray of hope for everyone seeking inspiration is my mission.  Guiding those to embrace their dreams and conquer the fears that hold them back is what truly brings me joy at the end of each and every day.

MY STORY

I have been blessed with having had the luxury of invaluable experiences and opportunities which have nurtured my talents; training from the top style experts in the world, from fashion to home & entertaining along with possessing the ambition of perfecting “the art” of domestic living. In addition, I held employment and gained significant experience with some of New York’s stellar financial firms (Merrill Lynch & Wasserstein Perella).

New York City is where the majority of my talents were developed. My fashion expertise flourished with Louis Vuitton and Bergdorf Goodman, New York City where I was trained and certified as a fashion, ready to wear expert and a Personal Shopper/Stylist with a considerable A List Clientele. Some of the perks, just to name a few, included VIP seating for seasonal "catwalks" during Fashion Week and collaborating with the world's TOP couture designers on a daily basis.

In my spare time, behind the scenes I was considered a "Jack of All Trades." A freelance Personal Assistant to Celebrity Event Planner, Colin Cowie, I assisted with wedding/parties and accompanied Colin on media satellite tours for venues such as The Today Show, etc. There I would assist in preparing tablescapes for Colin's Lifestyle segments as well as shop for the needed merchandise and props for all venues. Simultaneously, I maintained a boutique baking business, Coco a la Mode, from home designing intimate private events and, with the help of Colin Cowie, built a small "all-things creative" business with clients such as Manhattan's "Socially Elite."

9/11 occurred while both my husband and I were working in New York City. The conception of our first child and a custom home that I was designing in Pennsylvania were occupying a considerable amount of my energy. My husband Derek and I decided it was time, for me at least, to close the doors to the fabulous Big Apple chapter of my life and begin a new, domestic lifestyle chapter in PA.

With two children in tow and a husband commuting to New York City every day, I ambitiously pursued my goals and dreams. Designing and decorating a more than modest home while voluntarily helping others in the valley with their own decorating challenges, it was then that I turned to the industry experts of House Beautiful magazine for affirmation and recognition in the world of international design and decorating. The magazine editors admired the originality and creativity of my design and decorating. It was simply a matter of months before our candy colored kitchen graced the glossy pages of House Beautiful Magazine and earned the title, "Kitchen of the Month." The press continued to grow. Since then, our home has appeared in House Beautiful books and magazines, various home design books (Country French Kitchens, Carolina Fernandez), Lehigh Valley Style Magazine (in which I have authored articles on home, lifestyle and entertaining) and our local newspapers, including The Morning Call. USA Today even published an article regarding our kitchen's newfound trend of fusing an original color palette with interior design. Upon searching my name via internet, you will find endless blogging about my designs from accredited home sites.  My chocolate brown walls were accredited for making "brown the new black" by Sarah Hart of Cowtan & Tout, NYC.  I am a freelance writer and guest blogger for Lehigh Valley Style Magazine.  My latest endeavor as a contributing writer for Upper Saucon and Center Valley Living Magazine, where my very first project included a four page spread and my photograph featured on the cover.

Having made Lifestyle appearances on The Oxygen Network's She Commerce with Colin Cowie & Sloan Lindemann Barnett, appearing in the intro for The Show "Fashion Network" and on the Rachael Ray Show for designing one of the "Coolest Kitchens in America," my resume was primed and ready to go; enticing yet more interest on both local and national levels. With provenance and some courage I emailed my resume to Eve Tannery of WFMZ Channel 69 News in Allentown, PA. Enthused with what she had read, I received an email invitation to appear as a guest Lifestyle Expert on the show. Since then I have produced multiple segments with Eve (2009-current). Thank you, Eve!

My interests since have expanded.  Fitness, health and wellness are a huge part of my daily life, from running, swimming, functional weight training, tennis and golf to extensive research on digestive health, cardiorespiratory function & training, kinesiology, physiology and nutrition (sports & general) to name just a few.  I have obtained both my CPR and AED certifications and have participated in the American Fitness & Aerobics Association training.

I have written and published a short bio about how I achieved challenging fitness goals earning the title "fitness winner" in the Morning Call Newspaper. In addition,
I have served on the following committees: SVCC Fitness Committee, Planning Committee for Girls on the Run (GOTR) of Lehigh County, Run With Your Doctor 5K (Westfield Hospital), Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival benefitting Northampton Community College , Race Director for the New Balance Mile of Saucon Valley and currently a member of The Upper Saucon Township Park & Recreation Committee.  In early 2014, I became a regular contributor to Upper Saucon & Center Valley Life Magazine, while taking on the new role of STYLE Columnist for The Express Times & lehighvalleylive.com.

MOST RECENT TELEVISION APPEARANCE

On June 9, 2014 I departed for Universal Studios, Hollywood, Where I was invited as a lifestyle expert guest on the Hallmark Channels, Home & Family Show, after producers stumbled upon my blog surfing the internet for raw talent. My segment was aired on June 11, reaching 90 million homes across the country.  It was there, I demonstrated a DIY decorative beach bag project that went off without a hitch, and an invitation to return at any time in the future.

MY NEXT ENDEAVOR?

I am currently working with an industry business professional/entrepreneur, on gathering a small team which will include a producer, director and a creative screen writer, all in effort to create a sizzle reel and pitch for television networks.  In addition, with the same mentor, we are in the process of creating my very own "affordable Luxury" high fashion jewelry line.

MY ULTIMATE GOAL?

Given the opportunity to host my own show, I would prove myself as the next big creative guru of daytime TV, yet willing to explore different avenues. My capabilities are without limit. I've worked endlessly to build my brand and have known for a lifetime that this is my ultimate destiny. I work morning, noon, and night blogging, creating and networking. Hyper focused? Yes. Perfectionist? Yes. In addition to television, I would like to publish a series of lifestyle books for all the genres that I cover, including corresponding products through e-commerce and catalog. In addition, I would love to publish and creatively direct my very own DIY magazine. I have all my concepts ready to go along with the resources.

  1. A different Healthy Lifestyle behavior that you should train is dental practices. Many experts have shown that individuals exactly who train correct dental practices tend to live 6 many years greater than people that tend not to view correct dental hygiene.
